Sandra Bohlken

Photography is my hobby, but is becoming my passion. I am a retired hospital microbiologist -- still working occasionally. I enjoy my family, learning, walking, and traveling.

I am a self-taught photographer. While growing up I enjoyed taking photos of family and vacations with my brownie camera. Later I had a point and shoot to record all my daughters’ important “firsts”. When I received my first DSLR camera as a gift, I discovered that I love taking photos and editing them. I also still enjoy capturing the moment with my iPhone cam. I photograph anything and everything. I love seeing color and patterns and only wish I could capture the unique, beautiful things around me better and more artistically. I use many processing tools including Lightroom, Photoshop, Topaz and Nic filters, Aurora HDR, Photomatix, and many iPad apps (Snapseed, Enlight, Distressed FX, Lucid, and others). Sometimes I like to portray reality and sometimes I enjoy pushing the limits.

This site is a work in progress -- I keep reorganizing it.
